KANEOHE YACHT CLUB
RECIPROCAL AND GUEST PRIVILEGES
Here is a sampling of questions we have received on our Facebook page. If you have a question not listed below, and if you need a quick answer, please call us at (808) 247-4121 or email us at KYC@kaneoheyachtclub.com.
Q:CAN YOU TELL ME IF GUESTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A MEMBER IN ORDER TO EAT DINNER AT THE YACHT CLUB? OR CAN WE GIVE A NAME TO DO SO?
A:As a nonprofit, private club we have several legal restrictions imposed on us by local and federal laws. Guests must be signed in and accompanied at all times by a member. And only members can buy drinks. We do share reciprocal privileges with many off-island yacht clubs. If you are a member from an off-island yacht club you might be able to visit the club unaccompanied. Contact the front office before your arrival for more information and additional restrictions.
Q:I AM A MEMBER OF ANOTHER YACHT CLUB ON OAHU. DO I HAVE GUEST PRIVILEGES AT YOUR FACILITY?
A:Reciprocal guest privileges are only available to Senior and Life members of other yacht clubs NOT located on the island of Oahu.
Q:CAN MEMBERS’ BOATS BELONGING TO OAHU BASED YACHT CLUBS BE GIVEN TEMPORARY MOORING PRIVILEGES?
A:Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Members of another Oahu Yacht Club who bring their boat to Kaneohe Yacht Club will be extended the same courtesies with respect to mooring as are extended by the visitor’s club to KYC members.
Q:DO YOU HAVE CAPACITY THERE FOR 40' CATAMARANS?
A:We have had large cats visit for short periods of time. However, we have a very busy waterfront with very limited space. Before you arrive here in an any sized boat, you need talk to our port captain to ask about space and availability. You can get his contact information from our front office.
Q:WHAT ARE THE MOORING CHARGES FOR A VISITING YACHT?
A: Mooring charges for visiting yachts are typically $25 per day.
Q:I'M INTERESTED IN CHARTERING A BOAT TO TAKE 20 TO 30 PEOPLE TO THE SANDBAR. CAN ANYBODY FROM KANEOHE YACHT CLUB TAKE US ON OCTOBER 5?
A:We are a private yacht club with several local and federal restrictions. We do not run commercial or charter boat operations out of our facility. You can Google "Kaneohe Bay tour boats" for a list on nearby skippers for hire. These businesses can provide those services you are looking for.
