Kaneohe Yacht Club
The goal of the cruising fleet is to get as many boats from the club, out, beyond the sand bar, overnight. The cruising fleet hosts seminars on boat preparation, navigation, anchoring and other topics related to cruising.
The cruising fleet regularly organizes excursions to points around Oahu and interisland. Popular overnight cruises have been to Hakipu'u and Waimea Bay. Weekend cruises can be to destinations like Hale O'lono, or the West side of Molokai. The fleet coordinates their departure times with each other and keeps radio contact on the water. Occasionally a motor boat will even join the fun. After the fleet arrives at their destination, boats often raft together for meals and socializing, or they take the party ashore. There are lots of opportunities for fun that can range from the cut throat cribbage game to a fully officiated dingy-rowing regatta complete with hecklers. Of course, food is a big deal too. Whether you have an offshore capable boat, or you just want to crew, we encourage you to join us.
