Pacific Cup 2010

In July we will host the finish line for the 16th running of the Pacific Cup.
The first start is on July 5 in front of the St. Francis YC in San Francisco, and
the first boats should finish in Kaneohe by Saturday or Sunday, July 17 or 18.
This is always a great event and we at KYC are justifiably proud of the work we
do to make this one of the world’s great ocean races. If you haven’t volunteered
yet come down to the club and look at the sign-up sheets on the board. We
need many volunteers for an event of this scale and it is lots of fun.

International Moths US National Championship
|

February saw the arrival of the International Moth fleet for the US National Championship.
Seven participants (including a single wahine) went over the line for the three
day regatta from the 19-21 February, 2010. The weather didn’t participate,
with off-and-on breezes of 5-18 knots and shifting wind direction making foiling
difficult for the 6 races on day 1 and 5 on day 2. Unfortunately racing was
not possible on the final day, but it was all considered great training for the
International Moth Puma World Championships which were held in Dubai onMarch 8-14.
