Deckhands
The KYC Deckhands has been an integral part of KYC activities since 1955. This women's group is responsible for organizing children's parties, maintaining and operating the locker, which sells a variety of merchandise, and hosting the Newcomers' Parties. The Deckhands' Board also determines an annual gift to the Club. Frequently, the annual gift has been something of a material nature.
The organization consists of a Board of not more than fifteen members and the general membership, which is open to all KYC members. The Board meets monthly to plan upcoming activities.
A Membership Night is held in January and a Membership Morning held at a later date. The cost to join the Deckhands is $4 per person and $7 per couple. If you join durring a Membership Drive, you will receive a script for a standard bar drink. When you join, you are asked to fill out a form indicating what activities with which you might be able to assist. Your interests are recorded and you may be called to help.
If you miss the membership events at the Club, applications are always available from the locker when it is open. Joining the Deckhands will make you eligible to win the "Member of the Month Award." If your name is drawn, you will receive a 25% discount on up to $100 worth of locker merchandise.
